Skype for Windows 2.6.0.53 (public beta)
An early beta release of Skype for Windows 2.6 is available for download. It’s in its early stages so you probably will encounter some issues. It includes several bugfixes that are listed in the changelog below.
One of the biggest chances is that it uses a new audio library that is (according to Skype) absolutely necessary to maintain audio quality in the future. What do they mean by that? Rumor has it that the real reason is that the current audio protocol has been hacked by some Chinese company.

- bugfix: maximized windows was not really maximized
- bugfix: Could not focus Skype window when not signed in
- bugfix: Call action button in conference calls di does not work
- bugfix: API: it was not possible to record OUTPUT and CAPTURE_MIC simultaneously
- bugfix: API: if OUTPUT and CAPTURE_MIC were saved into 2 files in a row, the first file was not unlocked before Skype was closed
