We all knew that Skype can be used to do internet telephony, videoconferencing and conference call. But now you can use it to watch tv.
This Japanese site streams Japanese tv channels to Skype. Not of very much use to everyone but kinda fun anyway. This is how it works: Add dokotv1, dokotv2,dokotv3, active_test,active_test_2 or active_test_3 to your contact list and call them.

Streaming will start right away. You can even switch channels by sending ##<channel number>#. Look for a list of channels on the website.

[...] Don’t know how many of you ever saw a TV ad for an American chocolate + peanut butter cup treat (Reese’s ™), but it went something like this: Two people trip. One’s carrying a chocolate bar, the other a jar of peanut butter. One says “you’ve got peanut butter on my chocolate.” The other says “you’ve got chocolate in my peanut butter.” That’s kind of what I thought when I saw VoIP Relay’s post Watch TV in Skype. Pretty kooky. Maybe not as kooky as using an iPod to run Skype, but up there. [...]
